Allopathic
Medical School
My definition: This is what most people think of when they think
of medical school. Harvard Medical School, Tufts Medical School,
UMass Medical, etc are all under the category of allopathic schools.
The other type of physician typically encountered in a medical practice
would be a D.O., or osteopathic physician.
Both types of doctor must learn how to be sensitive to the human
side of medical practice. As Laurence A. Savett, M.D. discusses
in his book The Human Side of Medicine: Learning What it's Like
to be a Patient and What it's like to be a Physician (2002)
"Attending to the human side enhances care. Again and again,
elements of the human side hold the key to diagnosis and treatment
by recognizing the unique qualities of each patient. Attending to
the human side of medicine enriches the experience for all those
in the caring professions." -CS

information including a timeline

You can
also optain a copy of the MSAR
