ECHO trip 2007 information
Thanks for considering going on the 2007 Spring Break trip to ECHO. This trip has been an annual event since the late 1980's. Each year a team of Gordon students led by one or two faculty members heads down to help them in whatever way is necessary. I have led the trip two times, in 2003 and 2005. Last time, professor Jim Zingarelli brought along a troop of art majors, and we spent our evenings making various art works (some examples below). This art was sold and raised money for the ECHO ministry.
This year I have invited Paul Rogati to co-lead the trip. As you may know, he is an expert in multimedia production, and is responsible for among other things, Gordon's streaming server. ECHO has wanted to create a multimedia package that could be delivered to churches to spread the word about various aspects of the ECHO mission. I am hoping that we can use stock footage and possibly some of our own to create a functional DVD that would help ECHO. If anyone has particular experience with video editing/ flash animation/ web design or other similar experience, they would be exceptionally well-suited for this year's trip. We will meet to discuss the logistics in February.
Students interested in sustainable agriculture, world missions, or who just want to get a new experience in the Florida sunshine in the freezing month of March are welcome to apply. Please call me, Dr. Story or send email. If you don't know me, I am in the biology department. I can send you a letter which can help you raise the $400 required for the trip which includes all costs except a travel snacks/lunch here and there, and any souvenirs you may want to buy.
Below are a few photos and scans of artwork from the 2005 trip! I hope to hear from you soon! -Dr "Storyman" Craig Story
