Hello Gordon Biology
Majors! Return to Main Biology Page
This web
page is to help keep you informed of any developments in the department.
Bio Dept PICTURE OF THE WEEK!
Announcements:
- <<Your announcement here! Ask Dr. Story!>>
- Come to Marine Science Movie time! Each Friday in the Ecology Lab (KOSC 317) from 2:15 to 3:30. One never knows what fascinating movie Dr. Blend will have that week. Come for an exploration of the oceanic realm, followed by discussion.
- Biology Tea Time Friday at 4:30. Vienna fingers, tea and company. 2nd Floor lobby KOSC.
- Ocean LIFE RUN (aka Tide Pool Rush). Come to tea time to plan a time this weekend to get some sea stars, sea urchins, etc for the new marine tank. Probably the run will occur this Saturday or Sunday Afternoon during low tide. Where? Magnolia (part of Gloucester). Event sponsored by BIO CLUB.
- Be sure to check out the new MyGordon site. Here you can figure out what classes are being offered and make sure there is room, etc before going to your advisor to enroll. No need to go to registrar anymore for registering! Remember to enter only your username, not the (@gordon.edu) when you log in. -cs
- BIO CLUB T-shirts are still available at the low low price of $10. Yes, we still have some! See Dr. Story
- All Pre-Health Professions info (MCAT books, things sent from various schools, etc) is now over in Lane at the CE&CS office (next to Gillies on the chapel side). Go meet the friendly people there. See pics! I wonder if any of you have gone over there yet to use the MCAT books, etc. Let me know if you are. Also, be sure to set up a mock interview with them before any job or med school interview. -cs
- Dr. Keller is still recruiting all of us to help collect specimens for the Gordon collection. Here is what he wrote: "
This is a great time for students to find specimens to bring to me to prepare for our collections. If a student finds a dead bird or mammal THAT DOESN’T STINK (!), they should put it in a ziplock bag or plastic shopping bag and bring to me. If they can’t find me, they can put it in the freezer immediately." Critter coolers are not located in KOSC 3rd floor. Please label the bag with your name, if possible. -gk
