Current General Information Biology Majors

Gordon's Biology Faculty are committed to immersing students in the substantive study of biology while engaging them in issues of bioethics and stewardship. Students are taught that science is a process understood through research methods, the findings of which must be communicated well in both oral and written forms. Students are prepared for graduate and professional programs as well as for the workplace. Faculty encourage students to be involved in research, practical training and experience either on campus or at cooperative job training or internships. The department seeks to prepare students to serve as well-educated Christians in a secular world, engaging in careful thought about the relationship of biology to the Christian faith.

Housed on the majestic 3rd floor of the new Ken Olson Science Center, we in the Department of Biology are very excited at the new opportunities for research and teaching excellence that will be afforded by this new facility.

Keep in mind that Friday Tea Time at 4:30 is a tradition which allows all of our majors a chance to get to know us faculty better (and visa versa). Look for us on the 2nd floor or up in the 3rd floor rotunda, and bring a mug. Alumni, please feel free to drop in on us at Tea Time!
